• Taken for a Ride 3 – Lost in a Crowd: How Crowdworkers are Denied their Rights at Work (May 2025) (ENGLISH) (SPANISH)This Issue Brief was researched and drafted by Professor Miriam A. Cherry builds on the series and expands the focus beyond rideshare and delivery drivers to examine the working conditions of crowdworkers engaged in computer-mediated labor—a growing global workforce that powers AI systems, content moderation, data annotation, and digital freelancing. Despite performing critical, often skilled tasks, crowdworkers—particularly in the Global South—face legal invisibility, algorithmic control, low pay, and lack of access to fundamental labor protections.
